About the Program:
Keeping up with the changes in HR laws has become essential for your success in keeping your company out of litigation. This presentation will focus on medical marijuana, hostile work environment including the impact of social media and more. It will also highlight the legal changes that should be addressed in your Employee Handbook.
This program is a precursor to the Roundtable Discussion on the Employee Handbook we will hold on August 18th. Here you will discuss with your peers how they are handling all the required changes that must be met.
About the Speakers:
Holly Zitzka
Holly graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in 2011 and received her Juris Doctor in 2014 from the University of Miami School of Law. She began her legal career at Wicker Smith in Miami, Florida, where she gained extensive litigation experience in the defense of contractors and corporations in construction, premises, employment and product liability disputes.
Holly moved to Daytona Beach in 2018 and practices in the litigation department at Cobb Cole, handling employment, business, condominium, HOA, and construction law matters. Holly is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association, serves on the Board of Directors of Easterseals Northeast Central Florida, and is General Counsel for the Volusia Young Professionals Group. Holly was also recently honored by the Daytona Beach News-Journal as one of our community’s top 40 Under Forty Business Leaders.
Doug Collins
Doug grew up in Volusia County and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida before attending Stetson University College of Law. Following graduation from law school, Doug joined a large civil defense firm in Tampa, Florida, where he practiced in the areas of medical malpractice defense, insurance defense and commercial litigation. Doug went on to become a partner at Bell Law Group in Tampa where his practice focused on commercial litigation and civil defense, including various employment and civil rights/governmental liability matters.
Doug is a Partner at Cobb Cole, practicing litigation with a focus on employment and business law matters. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and Florida Defense Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Volusia County Bar Association and the Volusia County Trial Attorneys’ Association. Mr. Collins has been named a “Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star” in the area of civil litigation (2014-2020).
