Mr. Collins received his undergraduate degree in Legal and Political Philosophy from the University of North Florida before attending Stetson University College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Collins received a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy. Following graduation, Mr. Collins joined a large civil defense firm, where he practiced in the areas of medical malpractice defense, insurance defense and commercial litigation. Mr. Collins subsequently went on to become a partner at another Tampa-based firm where his practice focused on commercial litigation and civil defense, including various liability, employment and civil rights/governmental liability matters.
Mr. Collins’ practice is devoted to litigation, primarily in the areas of employment and business disputes. He has represented municipalities and Fortune 500 corporations in numerous litigation matters, ranging from contract and employment disputes to liability and constitutional claims. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA). Mr. Collins has been named a “Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star” in the area of civil litigation (2014-2020).
Mr. Collins serves on the Board of Directors for the Volusia Flagler YMCA as well as Mathew’s Gift, a local non-profit organization aiding children with medical complexities and their families. Mr. Collins is a graduate of Leadership Daytona, Class 39.
