About the Museum
Nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and central Florida’s largest cultural institution, MOAS features various exhibits spanning the arts, science, and history. A Smithsonian-affiliated museum, it seeks to “ignite curiosity and connection to art, science, and history,” creating a lasting impact on the area’s communities and helping to expand minds and spark spirits to create deeper global alliances.

Located on a 90-acre nature preserve, the museum offers diverse attractions, including:
- Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. Paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts from various cultures and time periods make up the world’s most extensive collection of Florida art.
- L. Gale Lemerand Wing. Features African art and weaponry exhibits from around the world and hosts traveling exhibitions.
- Family Science Nights. Curriculum-based science events ranging from Newton’s 1st and 2nd Laws of Motion to sound effects and ancient mammals and reptiles.
- Root Family Museum. Showcase of Americana collections, including Coca-Cola memorabilia and antique trains.
- Lowell and Nancy Lohman Planetarium. Immersive shows and presentations on space exploration and astronomy.
- Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum. Unleash a child’s imagination by exploring interactive exhibits especially designed for young learners.
A stimulating hub for cultural and educational experiences, MOAS offers permanent and rotating exhibits all year long. It even includes nature trails through the Tuscawilla Preserve.
